THE SPEX

Toddyspexarna is one of Lund's oldest spex associations. In 1895, the first spex premiered, and since then many spex have premiered in Toddyspex's name. Today, the association consists of about 105 wonderful members divided into 12 different committees with different areas of responsibility. The association consists mostly of medical students, but of course everyone is welcome to join the large spex family which is Toddyspexet. The members of the spex spend most of the month of March working towards a common goal - to put up a spex in the last weekend of March that amazes the whole world. Every autumn since 1979, the spex also has a re-enactment of the spring spex with a performance in Lund as well as in the historic theater in Ystad.

DIES TODDYUM MAGNA

Or The Big Toddy Day, is the last day of the long and fast-paced month of Toddy-March. It is the Toddy family's annual family reunion where Toddyspexet and Medicinska Föreningen, via its Toddy Day committee, unite to celebrate this magical day. The day is aimed at promoting the community and offers entertainment for all ages. During the day, participants can enjoy face painting, egg throwing and candy rain, amongst other thing. Toddyräven runs in Lundagård and the members of Lund's Akademiska Toppspelssällskap play the spectacular top game, a sport that is only played on this day.

The day culminates in the Toddy party where the guests together enjoy Toddyspexet’s performance, with subsequent supper and dancing until the wee hours on the AF castle's party floor. Dies Toddyum Magna is thus the last day of the long and fast-paced month of March and ends with the premiere of the spex!
