Biomedicine Student’s Educational Council (BUR)

The Biomedicine Education Council (BUR) is one of the educational councils affiliated with the Medicinska Föreningen (MF). BUR consists of students from the biomedicine program who work voluntarily to advocate for students' interests in education- and study environment-related matters.

The Educational Council Board is the executive body of BUR and has a degree of autonomy. In addition, BUR includes course representatives and officials from various committees. BUR convenes in both StorBUR and StyrBUR. StorBUR holds open meetings for students in the biomedicine program, where students, course representatives, the Educational Council Board, as well as other representatives and officials from various committees, gather to discuss and make decisions. StyrBUR is the executive board meeting of the Educational Council Board, where executive matters are discussed and points for StorBUR are prepared.

The Program Board for Master's Programs (PNM)

The master's programs in biomedicine, public health sciences, and medical science are led by PNM, which is the decision-making body for these programs. PNM is a board with several committees that handle various matters and propose decisions to PNM. In PNM and its committees, students can participate as student representatives and influence the decisions made in the programs, which we encourage!

PNM and its committees hold meetings during daytime hours. Student representatives have the right to have a new opportunity to make up for any mandatory elements missed due to study commitments. Several positions are remunerated, meaning you receive financial compensation for your involvement. Typically, both a regular and a substitute student representative are elected, with the latter acting as a substitute if the regular representative is unavailable. Most of the student representative positions are elected at the end of the spring semester through the MF General Assembly (FUM). If a position is vacant, it can be applied for at any time during the year.

Student representative positions within PNM and its committees that can be applied for via MF in biomedicine are:

  • PNM Member (biomedundergrad)

  • PNM Member (biomedmaster)

  • Study Social Committee PNM

  • Examination Committee PNM

  • International Committee PNM Member

  • Management Group (biomedundergrad)

  • Management Group (biomedmaster)
